Julian is a winemaker and co-owner of Moores Hill Vineyard.
He grew up on the Hawkesbury River in NSW, before obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University. Following stints in the outdoor equipment industry and the early days of e-commerce, he started mucking around with grapes in Mudgee.
He decided to get serious about winemaking, studying oenology at the University of Adelaide. Vintages in McLaren Vale and California followed before coming to Tasmania in 2008 for a vintage job at Bay of Fires. Moores Hill happened to be for sale at the time so Julian convinced wife Fiona that moving to Tasmania permanently to run a vineyard would be a good idea.
