Here's a round up of what we're up to this Summer.
1. We're building a winery
You can't miss it- there's a giant steel structure emerging from our hill. Our new winery will enable us to make wine on site, a very exciting prospect. Construction is on track to be completed around the the end of February 2017, in time for our next harvest. 2. We're open
Our cellar door will be open everyday (closed Christmas Day) from 10am to 5pm for wine tasting and sales. If you're peckish, we'll be serving our cheese platter, charcuterie tasting plate, plus fresh seafood (see below). Take away your bottles to enjoy at another beautiful Tasmanian location or pause at Moores Hill and enjoy the sweeping views over the vineyard.
3. Enjoy delicious Tasmanian oysters
In addition to our tasting plates, we'll be serving up delicious Tasmanian oysters everyday over Summer. Relax on the verandah with a glass of wine and these simple Tasmanian delicacies.
4. More seafood: Tasmanian crayfish
For more indulgence, we've sourced wonderful crayfish from the waters off Stanley on Tasmania's north west coast. Quantities are limited so we recommend you pre-order.
5. New release wines
We've just released our 2016 Riesling and its a cracker. We completely sold out of red wine a couple of months ago so we're pleased to have bottled our 2016 Pinot Noir and 2016 Cabernet Merlot. Our 2016 Pinot Gris and 2016 Pinot Rosé have been popular at the cellar door already. Taste them all, plus a couple of extras from our sister vineyard, Native Point, over the Summer.
6. See us at the Taste of Tasmania in Hobart
The Hobart waterfront really comes alive after Christmas when the yachts from the Sydney to Hobart race start arriving at Constitution Dock. The Taste of Tasmania provides all the food and drink you need to party on with the crowd. We'll be there, pouring our wines. 'The Taste' as the locals call it, is also one of the longest food & wine events in the universe lasting 7 days from December 28, 2016 to January 3, 2017.
6. Drink and eat with us at Festivale in Launceston
Join us under the trees in Launceston's City Park for this annual showcase of Tasmanian food and wine. The live entertainment program is strong, there's wine masterclasses and the park setting is a delightful space for indulgence. We'll be serving poké- a Hawaiian/ Japanese influenced seafood salad using delicious local ingredients. Our range of wines will be available for tasting (and drinking!). February 10-12, 2017.
